10+ years in the construction and FM industry.
Take us on the journey of your career path. How did you end up where you are?
My career started when I moved to Texas, working in commercial construction for 11 years and moving from Superintendent to Sr. Project Manager. I was helping with building brick-and-mortar locations for Starbucks, TGI Friday’s, Chili’s, Jamba Juice and Dunkin’. Then, I crossed over to the FM side of operations for multiple brands, including Arby’s, Applebee’s, Panera Bread, Taco Bell, and now Sonic restaurants and Massage Envy clinics.
What advice do you have for someone just starting out in FM?
For a rookie going into a facilities management career, I would suggest learning as much as you can about every trade, and build relationships with people who can both educate and help you grow in the industry.
What are the benefits of ConnexFM membership?
Being a ConnexFM member has been an empowering experience. Members have access to amazing network resources and an online group forum to help stay on top of industry trends. ConnexFM has tons of education opportunities with online courses, webinars and other ways to add to your credentials. Plus, it’s a great group to be part of with its penchant for community involvement and giving back.
How do you see the FM industry growing in the future?
I see Multi-Site FMs going back to local/regional Supplier companies — not only for the better rates but for the quality of service.
What do you read in your spare time?
I like to read all types of self-made, underdog and motivational books to help push the positive aspects of challenges we face in life.
